Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Gold Leafed Ceiling

The lobby has a ornate ceiling of silver leaf patina-ed to look like gold. This also has a thick paper cut out design to enhance it's beauty. Three areas were water damaged. I had to cut out the bulging plaster, replace, trace the cut-out design and apply. Then, silver leaf was added with multiple layers of patina to bring up the hue into gold. This was labor intensive and painstaking work.

Applying the silver leaf, after cutting out the damaged areas and replastering.

Finished Ceiling.

Chandelier in Lobby

Replacing paper cut-outs; several layers of patina will build up the silver leaf to match.
