St. Vibiana's, 1876

Downtown Los Angeles, CA

The Cathedral of Saint Vibiana was once the motherchurch cathedral parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It was dedicated in 1876 named after a legendary Roman martyr Saint Vibiana. The church was damages during the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. After fighting between preservationists and the archdiocese, it was decided that the former cathedral would be renovated as a performing arts center.

The right side altar facade was removed during the renovation. I faux painted on a wood surface a soft white marble effect with a 3, yellow accented inlay panels.

Entire Altar, bottom section is faux painted.
