Another building in Los Angeles is converting to apartments. The lobby to the building had water damage on the plaster ceiling surrounding the
skylight. I recreated the painted details on the damaged section, matching the
patina-ed gold leaf to a copper tone.
Seismic upgrades are needed on most older buildings. The construction
consisted of adding several concrete walls and reinforced columns. To
put these in, the original plaster ceiling and terra cotta columns were
removed. I worked with CK Arts sculpting the plaster details to look like
the original. See Below:
